Surajmal University is initiating the teaching of Computer Science and Information Technology in its first phase by establishment of college of Computer Science and IT as the teaching of Computer Science is essential for preparing the students for future. The first facet of future readiness shall be to build an adequate computer science pipeline. The teaching of these two branches means that the students shall have critical thinking and problem-solving skills needed to be successful at whatever jobs develop. It will elevate students’ career prospects and their lifetime earning potential and will prepare them for the jobs that are yet to be imagined. We live in a time where technology plays an important role in many aspects of life, and so the many skills which will be provided with the degrees in these two subjects will be in high demand.
The growth of Information Technology (IT) has resulted in more change to human society in the last decade than in the last century combined. It’s also possible that the next 10-15 years will bring about more change to the world than seen throughout the entirely of human history. We live in a society that consumes content-whether that be news, information, entertainment, or communication through screens. In nut shell, it can be said that we are in a digital age driven by computer science in which businesses are increasingly relying on software programs to deliver, to acquire and transmit data across a multitude of platforms. This trend impacts all industries, from healthcare and banking to transportation and accounting. Even household objects that have been around for decades such as refrigerators, door locks and microwave ovens, are now becoming smart, connecting to personal assistants and Wi-Fi networks. We will have a variety of specializations in these branches which will enable the students to have knowledge of variety of specializations and roles, such as:
Software developer; computer system analyst; IT manager; Computer network architect; Mobile application designer; Research and Development Scientist; Computer Scientist; Artificial intelligence and machine learning engineer, etc., to mention only a few.
Our aim is to provide the students with the latest knowledge in emerging branches of Computer and IT in this proposed college. They will also learn ongoing technological developments in these branches and their sub-domains.
University is starting the teaching of Mathematics and Statistics from the next academic session to develop the ability to think creatively, critically, strategically and logically amongst students of the University. It will help them to learn to structure and to organize, to carry out procedures flexibly and accurately, to process and communicate information and to enjoy intellectual challenge.
By the teaching of Mathematics and Statistics, University shall help students to develop other important skills as they will be able to learn to create models and predict outcomes, to conjecture, to justify and to verify and to seek patterns and generalizations. They will also learn to estimate with reasonableness, calculate with precision and understand when results are precise and when they are to be interpreted with uncertainty. Mathematics and Statistics also have a broad range of applications in everyday life in other learning areas and workplaces like- Biological research, Genetics research, Medical research, understanding of environment and climate change, Industrial modelling, Social Sciences, Finance and Economics, New advances in Physics, Computer Science and Information Technology etc. In fact when students come across two main domains of Sciences in present century- Hard Sciences and Soft Sciences, they observe that Mathematics and Statistics have applications in both branches of Science.
In this college, students will be using mathematical software such as GeoGebra, Cabri and Geometers sketchpad as a tool and medium for learning mathematics. University shall also ensure to use TPACK {Technological pedagogical content knowledge, which consists of Technological knowledge (TK), Technological Pedagogical framework concept knowledge (TPK), Pedagogical knowledge (PK), Pedagogical Content knowledge (PCK), Content knowledge (CK) and Technological Content knowledge (TCK)}in the teaching system so as to ensure that students could properly have an access of each and every aspect of these subjects as teachers will be able to do-
- The identification of the appropriate topic to teach with technology;
- Identification of appropriate representation to change content;
- Identification of teaching strategies that are hard to do in the traditional way;
- The selection of the right tools and pedagogical use of their capabilities; and
- The identification of the right integration strategies.

Newly established Surajmal University proposes to start the teaching of nursing and paramedical courses in the first phase itself as we the University feels that Nursing is a health care branch focused, not on direct medical techniques, but on the care of individuals, families, and communities who are unwell or in need of help, so they may maintain health and quality of life. By getting trained here, they will help patients in their lowest and most vulnerable moments and will be there to support them throughout the recovery period. Nurses are essential for the proper functioning of healthcare systems. They help with administering drugs and treatments, support patients who deal with physical and emotional pain and can provide comfort to the worried families and loved ones. The nurse profession is in high demand. In many countries, open positions for Nursing professionals are not filled, even if many students choose this academic and career path. The best part about the medical knowledge and skills they will develop during the course of this Nursing degree is that they can apply them in other countries also. Nurses also have the freedom to choose where they want to work:
- public hospitals
- private clinics
- nursing homes
- military bases
- schools
What will be the use of this study, can be understood under following three heads-
- Exciting field of work: as careers go, nursing is rather challenging. So instead of another typical day at the office, their work environment is more adrenaline-filled, a challenging and vibrant affair. As a profession, nursing is required by most people, which means that missions abroad can be common-place. Extrapolating skills to numerous different settings is sure to provide them with the excitement of their future field of work.
- Diversity: the working field of nurses is diverse and they can work anywhere. A nursing degree can be in midwifery, palliative care, school nursing, children's or adult nursing and many more.
- Transferrable skills: nursing offers training in complex medical care. By studying nursing, the ability to save lives can be transferred to everyday scenarios, making them an asset to their family and society as a whole.
Finally, it can be said that Nursing is a broad discipline and can have specializations also-
- Midwifery Nursing
- Anesthesia Nursing
- Mental Health Nursing
- Adult Nursing
- Pediatric Nursing
Paramedical courses are being started in the University as they can assist the medical field professionals trained in pre-medical emergency treatment, medical assistance, diagnostic technology training, etc. Paramedics offer a wide range of courses to choose from in different sectors of the medical field. In contrast to the typical MBBS degree, paramedical courses are profession-oriented medical training courses that enable students to develop a career in the medical industry in a short amount of time and at a low cost. Paramedics are literally life-savers in life-threatening situations. They are usually the first to provide emergency care to those in need or in any medical help. They are very important because they are the first medical responder to an emergency situation. They are very important because they are the first medical responder to an emergency situation. In fact, they are well-trained to handle a situation that can be traumatic. They can respond to 911 calls for emergency medical assistance, such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) or bandaging a wound. They can assess a patient’s condition and determine a course of treatment, provide first-aid treatment or life support care to sick or injured patients. All the health care workers other than physicians, dentists and nurses who have special training in the performance of supportive health care tasks can be put under paramedics Examples are the emergency medical technician, audiologist, and radiological technologist. Also called allied health personnel.
