Surajmal University is initiating the teaching of Computer Science, Information Technology and Engineering. The first facet of future readiness shall be to build an adequate computer science pipeline. The teaching of these branches means that the students shall have critical thinking and problem-solving skills needed to be successful at whatever jobs develop. It will elevate students’ career prospects and their lifetime earning potential and will prepare them for the jobs that are yet to be imagined. We live in a time where technology plays an important role in many aspects of life, and so the many skills which will be provided with the degrees in these two subjects will be in high demand.
The growth of Information Technology (IT) has resulted in more change to human society in the last decade than in the last century combined. It’s also possible that the next 10-15 years will bring about more change to the world than seen throughout the entirely of human history. We live in a society that consumes content-whether that be news, information, entertainment, or communication through screens. In nut shell, it can be said that we are in a digital age driven by computer science in which businesses are increasingly relying on software programs to deliver, to acquire and transmit data across a multitude of platforms. This trend impacts all industries, from healthcare and banking to transportation and accounting. Even household objects that have been around for decades such as refrigerators, door locks and microwave ovens, are now becoming smart, connecting to personal assistants and Wi-Fi networks. We will have a variety of specializations in these branches which will enable the students to have knowledge of variety of specializations and roles, such as:
Software developer; computer system analyst; IT manager; Computer network architect; Mobile application designer; Research and Development Scientist; Computer Scientist; Artificial intelligence and machine learning engineer, etc., to mention only a few.
Our aim is to provide the students with the latest knowledge in emerging branches of Computer, IT and Engineering in this proposed college. They will also learn ongoing technological developments in these branches and their sub-domains. The main Engineering branches shall be- Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Automobile Engineering but not limited restricted up to these branches.

Computer science & Engineering
Computer Science is one of the disciplines of modern science, under which, we shall provide the various aspects of computer technologies, their development that emphasizes algorithms and theory, testing design and test driven development, front end and back end developments. The CSE department shall also offer three optional Concentrations for undergraduate majors: Machine Learning & Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Cyber Security including Blockchain, Network and Information Security, and IOT and Robotics.
Computer science & Engineering (Specialization in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning)
In this branch students shall be given opportunities to deal with modern approaches for building intelligent systems using machine learning. The university proposes advance concepts to undertake intelligent systems that autonomously learn to perform a task and improve with experience, including problem formulations (e.g., selecting input features and outputs) and learning frameworks such as supervised and unsupervised, standard models, methods, computational tools, algorithms and modern techniques as well as methodologies to evaluate learning ability and to automatically select optimal models. Computer vision, character and digit recognition, natural-language processing, spam filtering and robotics, etc to mention only a few.
Specialization in Data Science
In addition of the 20th century advances in data science which are related with the new richness and accessibility of data, quantitative and traditional fundamental investment research which sparks a revolution in active management, the university proposes to undertake the latest branches like augmented intelligence and human -in-the –loop artificial intelligence. The students will also be given opportunities to work on innovation technologies such as big data and block chain.
Computer science & Engineering (Specialization in cyber security including Block chain)
In 21th century Cyber security’s growing dependence on cyberspace for all aspects require to undertake those courses which will provide a risk-free and secure environment for keeping the data, network and devices guarded against cyber threats by Protecting the Confidentiality of data, Preserving the Integrity of data, Restricting the Availability of data only to authorized users, which we propose to undertake in the University.
Computer science & Engineering (Specialization in Internet of Things)
This specialization in Surajmal University shall equip students with strong skill for sensor network design and network planning for IoT. The topics include- Introduction to IoT Understanding IoT in Market perspective Data and Knowledge Management and use of Devices in IoT Technology Understanding IoT Architecture and the application of IOT in various technologies. This programme aims to train students to be well acquainted with a solid theoretical foundation, systematic professional knowledge and strong practical skills in the fields of computer technology communications networks and IT which will open the new vistas of interest covering a wide range of applications in the Internet of Things.

MCA
The programme is a blend of both theoretical and practical knowledge. An MCA degree provide students’ an opportunity to work with tools meant to develop better and faster applications. The program focuses on ensuring that the students would be able to study, plan, design, develop and maintain domain-specific software applications. The University shall provide domain-specific knowledge in areas such as Internet of Things, computational intelligence, cyber forensics, game programming, and ethical hacking. The core competencies that students of MCA program would be around Software Engineering and Application development, Data and knowledge discovery, Image Processing, Multimedia Computing and Communication, Computer Vision and Artificial Intelligence, and Virtual Reality.
Students must have graduation in computer applications, computer science, or related field with a minimum of 50% marks obtained at the UG level to be eligible for MCA. Student must have mathematics as one of the subjects in Class 12 is compulsory.
